Lobster Facts
* Their average lifespan is 50 years
* The oldest and largest lobster ever recorded weighed 44 lbs and was 100 years old
* They generate a multi-billion-dollar industry
* There are hundreds of different types of lobsters
* More then 200,000 tons of lobster are captured each year
* They have 10 legs
* They have poor sight but a good sense of taste and smell
* They shed their shells to grow
* In the 17th and 18th century the lobster population was so large they were used as fertilizer
* Their blood is clear
* They can regenerate lost legs, claws, and antennae
* They can range in colors from blue-green, to blue, to yellow, to white, and to red
* The green goo inside lobsters serves the same function as a liver and pancreas
* They can swim up to 11 miles per hour

Kinkajou Facts
* They can turn their feet backwards for the ability to run in either direction
* They are closely related to the raccoon
* Their nickname is “honey bear” because they eat honey from bees’ nests
* They have also been referred to as “night walkers” because of their nocturnal nature
* Their diet consists of everything from fruit to small mammals  
* They are seldom seen by humans in the wild
* When a baby kinkajou is born they are unable to see for an entire month
* They can weigh anywhere between 3 lbs. and 7lbs.
* They have a prehensile tail that acts as a “fifth hand”
* They cannot differentiate colors
* To communicate they use shrill vocalizations that resemble a woman’s scream
* On average they are known to live up to 23 years
* The oldest kinkajou on record is 55 years old
